Captain Frank Schomaker has lived his entire life on the water. Raised on boats from the age of five, he grew up casting lines and learning how to navigate shifting tides and strong currents. His early fishing years in New York gave him the skills and resilience to handle demanding conditions, but it was the deep blue waters off South Carolina that called him home. Here, Frank found not just incredible fishing, but also his purpose: sharing the offshore experience with others in a way that feels both authentic and unforgettable.
As a retired first responder, Captain Frank carries with him a calm confidence and a steady hand that reassures everyone who steps aboard. Years of protecting and serving others have shaped the way he leads on the water—always prioritizing safety, awareness, and respect for both his guests and the ocean. His style blends professionalism with an easygoing personality, creating an atmosphere where families, seasoned anglers, and first-timers all feel welcome.
What sets Captain Frank apart is his deep passion for true offshore fishing. While many captains around Charleston focus on inshore waters, Frank is part of the small circle of experts who run far offshore to chase mahi, tuna, wahoo, king mackerel, and billfish. His knowledge of these waters, paired with decades of experience, makes him a guide who not only knows where the fish are, but also how to turn every trip into a story worth remembering. Guests often recall the excitement of double hook-ups or the chaos of a billfish leaping free with the ocean spray in the air—moments that stay with them long after the trip ends.
The Boat
Supporting every offshore adventure is Frank’s 31-foot Pursuit Cuddy Cabin, a vessel built for both comfort and performance. Originally crafted in 2003 and fully restored in 2021, the boat is powered by twin 300-horsepower Yamaha engines and equipped with advanced electronics to find fish fast and navigate with precision. Its design offers stability on open water and the space needed for small groups to fish comfortably while enjoying the ride. The Pursuit is more than just a boat—it’s the trusted platform that allows Captain Frank to bring his guests safely into some of the Atlantic’s most productive waters, making every trip both efficient and memorable.
